Luckiness and Unluckiness

Katie has her first figure skating competition on Oct 26 & 27. It's a local competition. Katie won the first place on both Composery and Stroking for her age group. She told me that, "I always get lucky on competitions." That's true. She has not missed any competition so far, piano, drawing, skating. The skaters are very close. The judges had to let them stroke for extra time to compare their endurance. On the other hand, she has spent extra time practicing her spiral for the last two weeks to make this happen.

Now comes the unlucky part. On Sunday afternoon, Oct 28, she performed in the Minnesota Music Teacher Association (MMTA) monthly recital. She was lost in the middle of her music and stopped there... The teacher critic on the students' playing reminded her so that she could finish her piece. Lesson to learn ...
